These two boys have been with me for 3 1/2 (the Cockatiel) and 7-8 (the Alexandrine) years. Both are rescues, they are tame, but not so much that they will land on me, so they share a large aviary together. After the Cockatiel joined us, I cautiously introduced them and to my surprise they hit it off almost immediately, and quickly became the best of friends. The Alex has been given the opportunity to pair with a female of his own species, however he has never shown any interest. So, for as long as they both live they will have a forever home here with us. They are such a comical couple, the Alex says "hello" repeatedly whenever I am closeby, almost without fail, and the Cockatiel is a champion whistler!
Our kids have named the Alex "Freddie", so I guess that that makes the Cockatiel "Jim", and yes, I am a Queen fan haha. And by the way, Jim rules the roost!
