I have set up this online community space to give us Aviculturists a place to connect with others who share our passion for finches and birds in general. It is a place for us to share our experiences, post photos, ask questions and generally discuss anything related to finches. I was inspired to create such an online community space in wake of what's been happening on social media lately, and might I add, with increasing regularity; namely the deletion of countless bird groups as a result of pressure from extreme AR groups. Quite simply, this won't happen here because it is run by aviculturists for aviculturists!
Of course, rudeness and/or aggressiveness will not be tolerated, as we wish this to be a place where people will always feel comfortable to join in on the conversation. We reserve the right to remove posts and ban members should they not treat others with simple respect and kindness - this is not Facebook, so let's not allow the negatives of Facebook to creep in over here as well. Let's use this as a place to promote and better Aviculture; our wonderful hobby that brings us all so much joy!
I look forward to participating in countless conversations and to the posting of a never ending stream of photos on all things finch!
Cheers, Simon.

To Orange Bird Expo at the weekend , wide range of birds. Saw Chaff finches weavers good numbers in most of th e “bread and butter” birds cordons Obrests Ruddies stars longtails all three nuns represented lots of gouldians , European yellows seem thin on the ground perhaps they have disappeared under indiscriminate crossing with the white breasted Aussie yellow? Pictorellas were also poorly represented as were Blk rumped double bars.
Thanks for the report!
I,ve just found this site from a two year old issue of Aviary Life. It,s a pleasure to conect with like minded finch lovers. Thanks for forming this group. John Plant, Darwin N.T.
