A pair of Eastern rosellas have nested on my balcony and have a clutch of six eggs ready to hatch. This morning I found her mate dead and suspect the culprit was my neighbor's cat. Now I'm wondering what will happen to the female and her little brood. Will she continue to incubate the eggs? Should I remove some of the eggs from the nest to make it easier for her to feed them? If I was to handraise them and release them after they fledge, would they survive without a parent to show them around? Any advice here would be most appreciated.
