This image is not only super cute, but it is incredibly significant - parent reared Spix’s Macaws bred at ACTP! This species is extinct in the wild, and without this incredible organisation their future would not be safe in captivity either. In the not too distant future Spix’s bred by ACTP will be released back into the wild in their natural habitat in Brazil; this will be an incredible milestone in the conservation of this beautiful species, one that we have been anticipating for many years and that simply would not be possible without ACTP and their amazing partners!
